Who Should Take the PADI Divemaster Course?

As a Divemaster, you’ll be the go-to leader, responsible for supervising dive activities, guiding divers, and assisting with dive training. What Will You Learn in the PADI Divemaster Course?

In this course, you will:

• Develop Leadership Skills: Learn how to supervise dive activities and assist with diver training.
• Dive Master Skills: Perfect rescue techniques, manage diving groups, and anticipate and solve common dive-related issues.
• Dive Knowledge & Management: Gain an understanding of the business side of diving, dive safety, risk management, and environmental awareness.
• Supervise and Lead Dive Activities: Organize and lead scuba review sessions, skin diving courses, and specialized dive programs like deep dives and search and recovery.
• Practical Skills: Work on mapping dive sites, conducting dive briefings, and assisting with introductory dives like Discover Scuba Diving (DSD).

You’ll also get a hands-on understanding of diving operations, from setting up equipment to managing dive logistics.

Course Prerequisites:

Before enrolling, you need to meet these requirements:

• PADI Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent)
• Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) certification within the last 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to start the course (60 dives to earn certification)
• A medical statement signed by a physician (within the last 12 months) (In the UK, an HSE Diver’s Medical may be required)
• Minimum age: 18 years

Note: Qualifying certifications from other diving organizations may also be accepted – ask your PADI Instructor.
