Have you ever dropped something in the water and wished you could retrieve it? Whether it’s from a dock, a boat, or even while scuba diving, losing valuable items underwater happens. The PADI Search and Recovery Specialty Course teaches you the skills and techniques to efficiently locate and recover lost objects beneath the surface.

From mastering search patterns to using lift bags, this course is both challenging and fun, making it an exciting addition to your diving experience.

What You’ll Learn

During four open-water dives, you’ll develop essential search and recovery skills, including:

✅ Effective Search Patterns – Learn how to use a compass and natural navigation to locate objects underwater.

✅ Locating Large & Small Objects – Discover different search techniques for various types of lost items.

✅ Using a Lift Bag & Recovery Methods – Safely bring large or heavy objects to the surface.

✅ Planning a Search Operation – Gather information and create a strategy before your dive.

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Search and Recovery Specialty Course, you must:

✔ Be a PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification from another recognized organization).
✔ Be medically fit to dive – Please review the medical declaration at the bottom of this page.
✔ Complete the pre-study course manual and fill in the review sections before starting.
✔ Watch the PADI Search and Recovery DVD before the course.
✔ Be at least 12 years old.
