Make your scuba diving easier, safer, and more fun by learning how to dive from boats! The PADI Boat Diver Specialty Course helps you master essential boat diving skills and opens up access to amazing dive sites only reachable by boat.

Whether you’re diving from RIBs, hard-hulled boats, liveaboards, or cabin cruisers, this course teaches you how to prepare, dive, and enjoy your time on the water.

• 2 open water dives (both conducted from a boat, usually in one day)

Course Requirements

• Duration: 2–4 hours
• Minimum Age: 10 years
• Prerequisite: PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Equipment Needed: Standard scuba gear, surface signaling device (e.g. DSMB), and optional spare parts kit

Earn Credit Toward Advanced Certification

The first dive of this specialty may count as an Adventure Dive toward your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification—ask your instructor how to apply your dives!
